Candidate nominations
ElectoSense supports two nomination paths: per-ballot-item public nominations (any election) and Florida Condo compliance candidacy tracking (regulated elections).
Public nomination links (any election)
- Open an election → Ballot tab → click into a ballot item (e.g. a board seat)
- Click Accept Nominations to reveal the nomination panel
- Toggle nominations on and copy the Shareable nomination link
- Distribute the link to owners — they can nominate themselves or someone else
- Review Pending nominations in the same editor; approve to add the candidate as a ballot option, or decline
Approved candidates appear on the ballot like manually entered options. Nominations submitted via the public link are tagged in the audit log as candidate_intake.
What nominees provide
The public nomination form collects:
- Candidate full name (required)
- Unit number
- Email and phone
- Optional statement or bio (depending on ballot item configuration)
Florida Condo candidacy workflow
When the Florida Condo Election template is active, the Compliance tab additionally tracks:
- 40-day deadline — written notice of intent to be a candidate
- 35-day deadline — candidate information sheets for the second notice package
- Candidate submissions with approve/reject actions tied to the compliance timeline
Late submissions after a deadline closes require an override reason and are flagged in the audit trail.
Manual candidate entry
You can always add candidates directly in the ballot item editor without a public link — type each option as a row. There is no CSV import for candidates today.
Best practices
- Open nominations before you send the first notice so the call for candidates is included in owner communications
- Close nominations before finalizing the ballot for an active election
- For Florida Condo elections, monitor the Compliance timeline daily during the 40- and 35-day windows
- Review nominee eligibility (delinquency, tenure, etc.) outside the platform before approving
